Troubleshooting

1. I am unable to post
Are you logged in?
You must be registered to login, and you must be logged in to post.

2. I have posted but I can't see it on the forum.
Are you a new member to the forum?
To prevent spammers, the first few posts by new members are moderated by our staff.
Thus your post will not appear until a moderator has approved it. This may take up to 2 days depending on the time of year and the other commitments of our moderators.

3. I cannot login.
Have you registered?
You must be registered to login, and you must be logged in to post.

Have you clicked on the account activation link in the email that was sent to you after registration?
Registration is not complete until the account is activated. An email would have been sent to the email address you entered during the registartion process. If the email address you entered was incorrect or non existent then you will not receive the email and hence the account cannot be activated.
You need to use a legitimate email address for registration and activate the account before you can log in.

Have you posted spam or unrelated material including advertising to this site?
This forum does not allow advertising of any sort and of course will not tolerate spammers.
If you have made an unrelated post then it is likely that your account has been deleted.
We are mercilous in this area and will not tolerate such posts on this site.

4. I cannot register.
If you are unable to register then it is likely that your email address has been blocked from registering or posting. In order to prevent spam, we have been forced to block all email addresses from certain domains from posting.
For example any email address from mail.ru will be rejected.
We have found that spamming from this address is rampant and so to minimise the amount of work our administrators have to do, we have decided to block all accounts using this address.
We apologise if your email address is covered by these lists, but in general the volume of spam coming from these addresses is far to great for us to deal with even on a daily basis.
The absolutely surefire way to avoid problems with email services that we've blocked is to use the email address given to you by your internet service provider to register your account.

If you are a legitimate user and you find that your email address is caught up in one of these block bans then

5. If you still can't post
Please send an email to an admin.
Your admins are: Admin, GaryP, Richie

Please say something to demonstrate that you are in fact a legitimate poster and have constructive things to say or questions about LSC products or lighting in general or related infomation. Poor grammar and spelling will not work in your favor, as most spam messages feature this prominently. Don't worry if English is simply not your best language, since it will still probably be fairly obvious if you are serious about posting for constructive purposes.

It may be that your account or email address has been hijacked by someone else to post spam. If this is the case, we will work to resolve the issue.

6. Forum rule reminders
Absolutely no advertising will be tolerated.

Whether you are posting a link to a commercial page as a service to other forum-goers or you are in fact on the payroll of said site will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Tip: If you are posting a link to a commercial site, make sure the context is clear.

7. Reporting infractions
Please, if some spam, offensive posting, or forum terms of service violation gets by our vigilance, send an email or personal message to an admin (as per instructions in section 5 of this post), preferably with a link to or an exact description of the issue, and we will deal with it.
