Hi, I'm on a job where I'm mapping video and picture files across 300 LED RGB fixtures.  The fixtures (like all LED) have a very steep gamma curve, meaning that dark intensity values render much brighter than expected.  When using the programmer/dynamics, I can compensate for the steep gamma curve by using a 'slow start' curve in the patch window.

 

However, when using the matrix mapping feature, fade profiles are ignored, meaning that media with areas of dark colour render much too bright, and I end up with low contrast output at the fixtures.

 

Can this be changed so that the matrix mapping function respects the set fade profile of the fixtures?  Perhaps it could be an option checkbox.

This is very tricky, as the pixel mapping works outside of the normal fade profiles and talks directly to the DMX channels.

 

I will put it on the list, but it might not be possible.

maybe the mapping algorithm needs it's own gamma curve setting?  separate from the fade profile setup.
