Helo Timon,

i understand what you mean, clarity try to prevent users from unused Data like blank pages or  blank universes.

On one hand, this is usefull cause it makes it easyer not getting lost in not needed information.

On the other hand sometimes it block you out from the workflow you maybe know from other lighting boards.

At the end of the day it doesen't matter which page number you are on, if you start to use "Page Bookmarks".

"Page Bookmarks" allow you to combine any page-number (on both or single page) with the option to recall the state.

Please try out ...

Regards,

Klaus

Here is the trick to get around the lack of pages on a new show.

Hold down the [Page Up] or [Page Down] button and tap the [9] Flash button twice, then release the [Page Up/Down] button. This shortcut jumps instantly to Page 99 - which means that pages <=99 get created in the process. Now you can save to any page as desired.

I use this all the time.

Hello Richie & Timon,

in this case wouldnt it be better to allow to open pages without the rules exist right now ...?

Or to add the workaround in the manual?

Due to this, it sound to me like VX, what is on LX as function "hold page Up button and press 99" (or what ever) on the numkey?

Regards,

Klaus

This trick should be in the user manual, I will check and confirm.

The reason not to open all the pages on a new show is to protect beginner users, whilst the trick above means that power users can also get what they need.

Yes we could make it different on the LX, but we don't assume that an LX user will always be a power user. Often we see beginners start on an LX, so this helps to keep it simple for them.

Hi  Richie,

does power user on VX make a difference to a power user on LX?

I thought smaller system features have even to be possible on larger ones ....

Regards,

Klaus

I think we agree Klaus. A power user on a VX is the same as a power user on an LX. The same for a beginner, they are learning on either VX or LX. So we need to keep the software the same on both platforms.

Its in the Clarity manual .....

3.19...

When you start a new show, only page one exists. When a cue-list is dropped onto any playback on a page of a virtual wing, the next higher page is automatically created.

You can manually create any page number (up to 99) by directly selecting that number as described below. This also automatically creates all of the in between pages up to the selected page number.

  • To directly select any page number, hold either Page or Page ▼ and use the numbered [flash] buttons below the faders to enter the page number.
For example, to go to page 21, hold either Page or Page and tap 2, 1.
    Use the 10 button as a 0.

  • Holding Function and pressing Page or Page ▼ increments or decrements the page number by 10.

Hello Mike,

right, the function work this way, cause on a VX20 you don not have a Num-Keypad.

But for the LX -Range, where you have a Num-Keypad, it would be great if you can also use the Num-Keypad to enter the number of the page.

If you come as a User from MA for example you would surche for  a Syntax like "Page + Number + Enter".

Regards,

Klaus

I have added the request to allow use of the numeric keypad to change pages to the database. Issue CLR-1533 (low priority)
