In reference to the 'new features' list from the link:
Extended wing controls.
Right-click on the relevant LCD area in the virtual VX display to configure a playback as 2, 3, 4 or 5 columns (space permitting). Currently these extra columns are hard-configured as: Chase Rate, Playback Rate, FX Rate and FX Amp in future versions they will be user-configurable so you can switch functions as you wish. On these columns the play and pause buttons step the values up & down (with auto-repeat after a delay). When used together with the flash button they step in larger increments. Press both together to reset. Hold flash and move fader to also adjust value (the idea being you can scoot the fader/flash combo to adjust through a larger range).

I am unable to get this to work. Using a vx-20 wing, I open up the virtual VX display and right click on the LCD. In the menu, though, I see no options that appear to configure the playbacks as '2, 3, 4, or 5 columns'

What is the 'Relevant LCD area'? I've tried all areas that I can tell. Is there an updated manual with more detailed information that I am not able to find?

This is a super important feature that I'd like to be able to use : ]

You first need to assign a cue list to say fader 1, then on the virtual wing, right click the LCD screen for fader 1 and you will be presented with the options for how many columns you want to allocate to this fader.
