Well you heard it here first.

The next version of Clarity (v1.3) is due for release at the end of September and will be previewed on the LSC stand (Hall 2 - Stand #P17) at PLASA next week.

The focus has been to improve the User Interface for greater live control of the lighting show, as many users have requested these features via the forum. So if you want to use Clarity at a live concert, dance party, band or festival gig, then come along to PLASA and see what we have done. I am sure you will not be disappointed, and you may even be pleasantly surprised by some of the new concepts we have come up with.

Thats all for you now, but stay tuned to the forum for more soon.....

Will this version be posted on the website at the same time for those of us on the other side of the pond who can't get to Plasa.

Hi lighttch,

As it is only being previewed then it will not be put out for release until it is ready at about the end of September.
Sorry - but you will be able to read about what's new before that.

I know the release of 1.3 is only a couple of weeks away, but how about some screenshots.

Here is a quick shot of the new Palette window. Please note it is still a work in progress and it will definitely change before final release, but it does give you a nice tease of what is in store.

This update looks great for the live show user. Just wondering when the split fade times update will be made available.

This would be a great asset as a theatre lighting designer.

Thanks in advance of your response

Hi Ben,

At the moment we are focussing mainly on the live show features of Clarity, as most of our users fit into this segment.

There are lots of things we want to do to make it better for theatre and split fade times are at the top of that list.

However the theatrical feature set is on the longer term list, so it is not likely to be seen this year.

Hello

So, this is the first time i write here....but i'm reader since i heard about clarity.
In general i'm very happy with clarity (VX20 wing, 2 DMX universe), because i was
searching for a professional desk for my theater work in switzerland and europe.
But, i'm really dissapointed about the split fade times update, because this was my
mean concern and in older post there was a quote, that the update will be ready in march.....

so, pleeeeasee do it as fast as possible and you have a very happy clarity owner in switzerland....
and go on with your good work.

greetings

Patrik

Hi Patrik,

Yes you are right Nick did mention this as a feature that was going to be added as part of v1.2 earlier this year. However once we got closer to the time there was almost no interest in this feature from users on the forum and lots of requests for other features, such as MIDI interfacing, Time Code control, Tracking Back-up, etc - all of which bumped split fade times down the list.

If a few more users bump this topic in the next week or so it will be pushed back up towards the top of the list.

Is the "live times dialog" a way to change the fade times when using the programmer/palettes? if it is then that is awesome haha

Yes, it was a 'Yay it's there' comment, not a 'Where is it?' comment. Have been playing with it since the first beta, awesomely usefull.
